The New TB Test – More Accurate and Convenient #TBBloodTest

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for the TB Blood Test. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

As parents we do everything we can to take keep our kids happy and healthy. From well visits, to vaccinations and blood tests. Visiting the doctor for children can be difficult because they know it sometimes means they’ll get poked with a needle. My daughter asks me every time if she’ll have to get a shot and fears it.

One of the standard tests every child must have is the skin tuberculosis infection (TB) test. They are painful and inconvenient to boot requiring follow up visits.

What is Turburculosis?

Tuberculosis (TB) is an airborne, highly contagious, infectious disease caused by bacteria. These bacteria are spread through the air by a person infected with active TB when they sneeze, cough or even speak, with nearby people breathing it in. Roughly 30% of the world’s population is infected with TB.

My TB Test Experience

I remember when my older sister had her TB test. Now, she was terribly afraid of blood and needles when we were kids and there was some screaming involved. So, when my turn came around I was petrified.

My traumatizing experience thankfully ended with the test itself but for hundreds of others it does not. False positive are all too common and cause tremendous unnecessary worry and stress for family’s.

The NEW TB Blood Test

tb-testThe TB test has been the same for the last 110 years but finally there is a new more accurate and convenient TB Blood Test.

The TB Blood Test gives an accurate positive or negative result and isn’t subjective like the old TB test method. Just one visit and one clear result. One visit means so much to me because it’s putting your child through less stress of having to go through the fear of visiting the doctor and everyone could use more time, right? Plus, the certainty of accurate results helps us rest easier.
