This weekend we spent a fun filled day at the Detroit Maker Faire. Hundreds of makers from engineers to crafters and scientists came out to show off their skills. There were lots of activities for even the littlest kids like mine. My girls loved the 3-story Hot Wheels track and the show that Cirque Mechanics put on. Here are some photos from our visit –
Maker Faire is an eclectic family-friendly showcase of invention and creativity. Hundreds of makers, crafters, and inventors will gather to show off latest work, and prove that imagination has no limit. It’s a place where both kids and adults of all ages can learn about science, art, robotics and more, and become inspired to build something themselves. Some of the must see features this year are:
- A life-size game of Connect Four
- 3-story high Hot Wheel track
- PancakeBot, a robot makes pancakes in intricate designs
- EepyBird’s Coke & Mentos Spectacular
- Cirque Mechanics, a whimsical acrobatic troupe
- And much more!
There are also plenty of crafts, hand-on activities and games for the whole family.
The Detroit Makers Faire is held at the historic Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI. For more information visit the Henry Ford Museum website.
