During the summer months we spend much of our time outdoors. The girls love running around our backyard and playing on our playscape. I got it for a steal a couple of years ago, it’s a Rainbow play set that if it were new I could never afford. I happened to find it on Craigslist while searching for local garage sales and purchased it for $200.
Fast forward 2 years later and our wooden play set had seen better days. The stain was coming off and it was faded. It was looking old and beat up. Here it is before re-staining and revitalizing it –
This summer one of the things on our to do list was re-staining it. I was excited when Olympic offered me their new Olympic ELITE Advanced Stain + Sealant in One to try out.
Here are a few of the great things about Olympic ELITE Advanced Stain + Sealant in One:
- Delivers rich, durable wood tones
- Optimized blend of penetrating oils
- Urethane fortified for toughness
- Exceptional UV resistance
- Enhanced waterproofing protection
- Powerful mildew and algae resistant coating
To start we took all of the plastic pieces on the rock wall and all the handles off and repainted them a pretty new aqua color. Then we got to staining! There were lots of colors to choose from and I chose to go with a color Olympic calls Wenge. It’s a nice deep dark brown color that I thought would look great with the aqua.
The Olympic ELITE Advanced Stain + Sealant in One went on easily and we finished the job within a few hours. It took a couple of days to dry and now here is our final result –
I am really happy with the results of the Olympic ELITE Advanced Stain + Sealant in One. It was also nice that we were able to stain and seal the play set all at once saving us a lot of additional hours of work – nice!
It looks like nearly brand new and we love it! Next I’m going to add some cute tire planters around it.
Just look at the difference!
Disclosure: I was provided the stain free of charge. No other compensation was provided. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
