Logitech Harmony 700 Advanced Remote Review { Father’s Day Gift Ideas Sponsor Spotlight }

LogitechLogitech Harmony 700 Advanced Universal Remote ReviewOne of the things Daddy Digger took great care in planning when we were building our home was the home entertainment system. We now have the perfect setup for movie nights or playing our Wii. I’ve mentioned before that I love Logitech products and was excited to see their line of Harmony Remotes. A remote is a perfect gift for Dad whether he is a sports fanatic, music buff or just plain enjoys relaxing and watching his favorite shows. The Logitech Harmony line of remotes offer a wide range of features depending on what you are looking for and how advanced of a remote you want, we reviewed the Logitech Harmony 700 Advanced Universal Remote. It has a bright color screen that is easy to read and has bright easily identifiable icons. Being that we have lots of devices we need a great universal remote that can control them all at the touch of a few buttons and the Logitech Harmony 700 remote does this for us perfectly.

Logitech Harmony Remote Setup

Even with our complicated home entertainment system, setting up our Harmony 700 remote was extremly simple. You just need to connect your remote to a computer via USB and tell it what equipment you have. They have a HUGE database of devices so you’ll surely be able to find yours. Logitech constantly updates this so when you get a new model you can rest assured they will have it added and ready to synch with your remote.

There are many features that I love about it but I’ll start with my absolute favorite – it doesn’t require replacing the batteries! It comes with charger that you connect to your wall outlet and let it charge up. It says you might have to do it once a week but honestly we’ve had our Harmony 700 remote for over a month now and have only charged it once and we use it on a daily basis.

It has a easy one-touch button for each activity you program including Watch TV, Watch a Movie and Listen to Music. You can also program in your gaming system if you have a Wii, Playstation, XBox or any other gaming device. Once you press the button for the activity you’d like the Harmony 700 remote does the rest and turns on all the necessary devices. In the event that everything doesn’t start up once you press it has a handy help button that it will try to fix it on its own, if it doesn’t it will go through and ask you questions whether or not a device is powered on. It don’t need to use this often but the times that I have it has fixed itself and we can continue without having leave our seat.

It has backlit buttons so you can easily find the button you are looking for even in the pitch black. All you have to do is pickup the remote and the backlit buttons and color display will light up. We love turning out the lights for movie nights so this has been a nice feature to have.

The Logitech Harmony 700 remote is wonderful! It has cut down the number of remotes we need, easy to setup and very intuitive for anyone to use.

  1. Oh my gosh, I saw this and wondered how it worked. Amazing technology! I know my husband would love to have this. He is the king of the remote, after all;)

  2. Love this as we too, Have several devices and about 4 different remotes. It is confusing so if we could put it all on one, WOW! Gotta love this!
